Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1 (NIV)
Worship can be a nebulous term within the Christian world. Most often people limit worship to the activity of singing hymns and choruses during a church service. As far as it goes, this understanding is valid.
But on a much broader scale, however, worship means to love God, to submit to Him, and to give Him top priority in our lives.
Notice how the Apostle Paul described worship in the verse above. In following his exhortation to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, it’s not a stretch to say we accomplish this in part by the way we lead. Perhaps you’ve never thought of leadership this way, but true leadership many times requires you to place yourself on the altar as a living sacrifice. You place the Lord and others above yourself.
Give God top priority in your life. Love Him and serve those whom you lead to the best of your ability.
Your worship will please the Lord.
