Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)
At first glance you might guess that this verse was written by some preacher or theologian who didn’t know the facts about military life. NOT! The writer is David, the dude who killed the giant named Goliath.
Although David was a courageous military leader well acquainted with the realities of combat, he knew the reason for his successes was his reliance upon God. David delighted in God and tried to live his life in obedience to Him.
David wasn’t perfect, but as he learned to delight in God, the Lord granted David the desires of his heart.
This verse is true. Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
