“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” (Matthew 14:29-30).
“Water-walker!” You know-that person who seems to excel in everything he or she does. But let’s be real. To say the person really does walk on water is a bit of an exaggeration. Nobody can be that good!
Or can they? You may already know that Jesus walked on water in traveling to his disciples who were in small boats out on the Sea of Galilee.
Ok, but Jesus is God. Yes- but Peter sure isn’t! These verses tell us that Peter actually walked on water until fear distracted him and he took his eyes off the Lord.
Is this verse a guarantee that you will walk on water? No- but don’t limit what you can do with the Lord’s help. Exercise your faith. You and the Lord can make it happen!
