I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.” 1 Samuel 16:1 (NIV)
Take a few moments to reflect on your life. Is your present state in life the result of your efforts or God’s providence? Sure…you have worked hard to develop your abilities, but can you take full credit?
If you’re realistic and humble, you will understand that God is working in your life in many ways. Take David for example. Long before David knew his destiny to become king, God was preparing him to handle upcoming responsibilities. In fact, the Lord communicated revealed David’s future to the prophet Samuel even before he shared his plans with David himself.
Step back and gain some perspective. Like David, the Master Architect of your life is providing you with experiences you’ll need to handle the missions He will assign to you.
Like most of us, God may not anoint you to become king. But be certain that Father knows you best and will use you in the wisest way possible.
God will do his part. Be wise. Don’t waste any experience He gives you. He has your best interests at heart.
