But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” Exodus 3:11 (NIV)
Have you ever felt this way? You believe in God. You trust Him. You want to serve Him to the best of your ability.
But then God tells you to do something that seems way above your pay grade. The more you ponder God’s guidance, the more impossible and ridiculous it seems. Doesn’t He understand your limitations?
This describes the situation here with Moses. Read Exodus 3. God has just issued Moses a daunting assignment- to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses quickly responds to God, letting Him know that he is not God’s man for this mission.
But who’s in charge-Moses or God? God goes to great lengths to assure Moses that He didn’t choose the wrong guy. History proves that He was right.
Are you in a situation that seems like the Lord is requiring too much? Take heart! As your Creator, Sustainer, and Provider, God knows your capabilities and limitations. Just as you strive to develop the warriors under your care, God wants you to develop you.
