“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” Luke 8:17 (NIV)

The moral behavior of a leader is critically important: to the Lord, first, and then to those who follow. Trust depends on it.

Somehow, though, immoral behavior continues to happen at all ranks. One of the main reasons for this is that we don’t believe anyone else will ever know.

But is this true? Absolutely not. The Bible makes it clear that everything hidden will one day be known. Our own experience validates this. How many times have you read or heard about a leader being investigated for adultery? Unfortunately, the charges turn out to be valid most of the time.

The collateral damage is usually significant- on the leader, on the leader’s family, on the other family, and on those who work under the leader who transgressed.

Where do we go from here? Temptation is universal. We all experience it, but the Lord will give us the ability to resist any temptation.

Don’t give in! Be a leader of character.
