Let These Men Go - The Warrior's Journey®

“I told you that I am he,” Jesus answered. “If you are looking for me, then let these men go.” John 18:8 (NIV) Leaders in most organizations are evaluated by subordinates regarding their willingness to stand up for those who work for them. Followers hear the words of those over them, but at crunch time they want to see action. They want proof.

This is particularly true in the military during combat. Are leaders willing to expose themselves to the same hardships and dangers they ask their warriors to face?

In John 1:1-11 Jesus epitomizes the willingness of a leader to place the lives of his followers ahead of His own. He is about to be taken into custody by religious leaders and would soon die by crucifixion. He refused to defend Himself, but he does speak out for the release of His disciples.

If asked, what would your subordinates say about you regarding your willingness to have their backs?

Perhaps you’ve failed at times to stick up those under you. Why not decide to make that change today?

Jesus gave his all for you.
