You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. – 2 Corinthians 3:3 (NIV)

Whether we realize it or not, we all leave a legacy. But what will that legacy look like?

Many rich or famous people seem to think that buildings or streets named after them constitute a great legacy. Politicians like to be remembered for laws or policies they authored. Writers want to be remembered for books or other literary works. Military leaders like to be remembered for notable actions, particularly during combat.

But what is the best kind of legacy? May I suggest that the Apostle Paul had it about right. The legacy he references in this verse speaks to changed lives, people whose hearts were transformed through the ministry he provided.

Just think about it. Paul’s joy was in knowing that his efforts had real impact on people, impact for the Lord.

Any of us can have impact that will please God. It’s really a matter of choice. What kind of legacy are you going to leave?
