Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Psalm 32:1 (NIV)

Military warriors are some of the toughest people on the planet. I’ve been privileged to serve with many of them. They’ve faced the rigors of combat head-on and haven’t flinched, even if it meant death.

However, a few enemies are too tough for any warrior to conquer. Unconfessed sin is one of them. Read David’s description from his own life:

“When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Selah” Psalm 32:3-4 (NIV)

At one point in his life, King David committed adultery, and followed that sin with murder to cover up his first sin. It didn’t work. Nathan, the prophet, confronted David about his wrongdoing. Though incredibly painful, David accepted full responsibility, took his medicine, and confessed his sin. God honored David’s confession and repentance by forgiving him.

Psalm 32:1, cited above, describes David’s relief that his sins had been forgiven. No more shame, no more guilt.

Are you carrying unconfessed sin? Don’t. Confess it to God today.
