Death is described in the Bible as “the last enemy.” For many who don’t know Christ, death is a source of great fear and anxiety. But this is not God’s intent. These verses tell us that Christ’s followers will be raised to eternal life. Physical death will not be able to hold us! Difficult to imagine? Yes. Do we know all of the details? No. But God has revealed enough about the afterlife to assure us that it will be glorious.

“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory’” (1 Corinthians 15:53-54, NKJV).

Even in difficult circumstances here on earth, we can take hope in this great promise. How does claiming this promise affect your perspective about life here and now?
