Have you ever felt like some unseen force was hindering your progress in Christ? Even the apostles were not exempt from attacks of the devil. The Bible reminds us that spiritual battles are a reality. Satan would like to derail your faith, or at least hinder you from sharing the gospel. Such challenges shouldn’t be viewed as a sign of spiritual weakness. In fact, pleasing God and advancing His purposes can make you a special target of opposition from the enemy. God has not left you defenseless, however.
“Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us” (1 Thessalonians 2:18, NKJV).
As a follower of Christ, you have access to His overcoming power. Stand strong in your faith, confident that the One who lives in you is infinitely greater and more powerful than any foe. Hold tight to the promises of Scripture. Put on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10–18. Gear up for battle, and move forward in Jesus.
