When was the last time you faced a particularly tough situation? Maybe it was pretty recent? The Lord knows what you are facing. He understands human nature in general and understands you specifically. He knows when you are struggling, when you are tempted, and when you feel like throwing in the towel. Best of all, He loves you even when you’re at your lowest or your worst. He won’t abandon you.
“When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice (for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them” (Deuteronomy 4:30-31, NKJV).
As these Scripture verses assure us, when things are not going well, turn to the Lord. He sustains and encourages us.
