The LORD blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the first. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. And he also had seven sons and three daughters. (Job 42:12-13)
Yogi Berra, Hall of Fame catcher for the New York Yankees, is credited with the phrase, “It’s not over til it’s over.” No matter the odds of winning the game, the outcome is not decided until the game is over. This is true about life regardless of how dark or dismal things presently appear.
God has the final vote. Consider Job, a Bible figure who lived thousands of years ago. Through a tragic series of events Job lost his children, his wealth, and his health. It got so bad that Job’s wife told him to curse God and die. But Job clung to his faith. In the end, God blessed him more than he had previously. The Lord gave him beautiful children, incredible wealth, and health that allowed him to live 140 years.
Have stressful events left you feeling liked ‘damaged goods.’ Hold on to your faith. God is not finished with you yet!
