“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’” (Matthew 25:23)
We all need to know that our life counts, particularly in the work we do. The military does this well through its system of promotions and awards. Although not perfect, usually the right people get promoted or receive awards for their efforts. The Lord has a system for promotions and rewards as well, one that can’t be messed up by another person.
In Parable of the Talents, Jesus illustrated the truth that God has given each of us gifts and abilities, which He expects us to use to the best of our ability. We will be rewarded or punished accordingly.
No matter how difficult or stressed your life seems, remember that you alone decide your outcome with the Lord. If you serve Him to the best of your ability, you can be certain you will please the Master. In this life He will give you more responsibility and reward. But the best is this: when your work on earth is done, you will share eternal life and happiness with God
