I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
Perspective has been defined as the faculty of seeing all the relevant data in a meaningful relationship. As important as it is, a realistic perspective is difficult to obtain and just as hard to maintain.
The Lord knows this and has taken the necessary measures to provide us with perspective that is grounded in truth.
As a Pharisee, Saul (later Paul) thought he was serving God faithfully until the Lord changed his perspective. In a blinding flash while journeying to Damascus, Jesus revealed Himself to Saul. Instantly Saul’s perspective changed. He discovered that the Jesus he was persecuting was in fact God.
Years later Paul wrote to the Galatians about his new perspective. As the verse explains, he no longer lives for himself, but now lives for God through faith in Jesus Christ.
How about your perspective. Are you living for yourself or are you living your life through faith in Jesus?
These two perspectives are radically different.
