I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

A frequent question from most new Christians is this: “Now that I am a Christian, how am I supposed to live?” I’ve received this question from numerous warriors who have decided to follow Christ.

Paul answers this question for the Christians to the church in Galatia. When he says that he has been crucified with Christ, he means that symbolically he identifies with Christ at the cross. Jesus died physically. We die to self. No longer do we live to please ourselves, but to please God.

It means that we now belong to Christ and are indwelt by his Holy Spirit. We have the power to serve God and serve others.

It doesn’t mean that we change everything we’ve been doing. It does mean that we are now serving God and others as the result of God’s love shown to us.

You can serve Jesus in the military, or in many other walks of life.
