From the President & CEO

The Warrior’s Journey (TWJ) has had a fantastic year. Your generous gifts and the extraordinary team that God assembled make that possible. Since January 1, our team has accomplished many things, including over 40 trips to engage with Pastors, Chaplains, military service member training, military commanders, meetings with foundations, and working with businesses. All this is to expand our offerings to our military and veteran community and reduce suicide ideation, attempts, and completions.

TWJ has expanded its offerings exponentially during the 2022 calendar year. The expansion has only occurred through your belief in TWJ’s mission and prayers. Those prayers have opened doors that otherwise would have remained closed. I am exceedingly hopeful as I look at what God has in store for 2023.

2022 Event Highlights

January –USS George HW Bush pre-deployment family day
February – Partnership discussions with organizations
March – record attendance at 3rd annual gala
April – Partnership discussion with in-patient program for veterans
May – Military ministry conference, Heroes Honor Festival
June – Networking with chaplains
July – Visiting Ukraine to work with our partners and relief efforts
August – TWJ family camp to help veteran families with transition
September – Planning meetings with German commands for training in 2023
October – Command and staff resiliency training
November – Inspiring warrior’s golf
December – Operation hold over (Christmas packages for warriors)

Our team also completed 14 honor events.

Looking Ahead to 2023

TWJ’s goal is to help military members, veterans, and families overcome the challenges created by military life. TWJ has helped over 1,500 individuals who have expressed suicidal ideation since 2016, with 0 suicide completions. To make sure the mission continues to move forward, the TWJ team is doing many things to work toward expansion.

In 2023, TWJ is purchasing a building as a training center. The new Veteran Resource Center will allow TWJ to expand existing services and develop new in-person workshops and coaching programs. The center will have a local impact and allow TWJ to invite veterans from around the country to participate. The space is key to TWJ’s continued growth and expansion of resources.

TWJ recently received approval to work with the C4 foundation, a DoD and NSW-approved non-profit with a trusted connection to SEAL Teams 1, 3, 5, and 7. Due to this approval, TWJ will have unprecedented access to the SEAL community, which historically has not been open to outside organizations. This is a fantastic opportunity to present the gospel to active-duty SEAL Team members and their families.

TWJ was recently invited to complete training for chaplains and religious affairs specialists with the 21st Army Sustainment Command in February 2023. This training will provide resources to our military service members to make their time in the military more enjoyable.

TWJ is preparing for the 4th annual gala with special guest speaker Dr. Ben Carson, on April 1, 2023.
