Throughout Scripture we find that God, our heavenly Father, disciplines those He loves, and we are encouraged to endure hardship as discipline. God expects us as parents to correct our children out of our love for them. As you pray, God will help you to find that method of discipline that works with each of your children.
“Correct your son, and he will give you rest; yes, he will give delight to your soul” (Proverbs 29:17, NKJV).
Some need only a word of warning while others need to experience the pain of lost privileges, the consequences of bad decisions, extra chores…whatever will cause them to change their behavior. Parents, with this responsibility, God offers help as you pray. As they learn from your discipline, your children will be better able to receive and benefit from their heavenly Father’s discipline.
