Starting with Adam and Eve, people have tried to deny the truth of their sins to themselves and to God. But that’s silly—God knows everything before we tell Him! Amazingly, He still seeks to love, forgive, and be a good Father to us in spite of all our evil thoughts, words, and deeds.

“For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things” (1 John 3:20, NKJV).

To help us, God has wired us to know when we’re straying off course. When your heart accuses you of doing something wrong, it’s wise to pay attention. Turn to God in repentance, and He’ll forgive you. But if your heart continues to condemn you even after you have sincerely repented before God, take that to Him in prayer as well. The One who knows all things will give you His healing comfort and consolation.
