Does it ever seem like God isn’t anywhere to be found? This passage assures us that He is always with us. Joshua and the Israelites battled with neighboring tribes and nations for over two decades. Sometimes, they tasted defeat and discouragement. But they never gave up. With the Lord’s help, they prevailed. As He promised, God’s mighty presence was always with them.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9, NKJV).
In the midst of your struggles, do you remember that God is present? You may not feel His presence or see much evidence that He’s there, but our Lord is a God of His word. He’s not only with you but also at work on your behalf—even when it doesn’t seem like it. Never fear!
