Never Alone

There are times when we feel all alone. Long exercises, TDYs, and deployments can isolate us from the friends and families we need the most. Job felt this way about God. He prayed and searched for God but could not find Him. It was as if God took a vacation from helping him. But Job’s faith would not let the overwhelming feelings win. He knew that even if God seemed absent, He was still at work in Job’s life, refining him like a wise master jeweler refines gold to create a special treasure.

“Look, I go forward, but He is not there, and backward, but I cannot perceive Him; when He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; when He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him. But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:8-10, NKJV).

So, the next time you ask, “Where are you God?” switch it to a prayer request: “I know you are working God; please help me to trust you more.” God will never leave you alone!
