Are you spending time with people who uplift and encourage you? If not, you may be missing out on one of God’s best methods for helping you stay strong and effective. According to Ecclesiastes 4:9–10, loyal friends offer wisdom and encouragement. They provide a balance that may be lacking when you see things only from your own perspective. And when you stumble or make a mistake, friends can encourage you and help you get back on your feet.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, NKJV).
Likewise, you can help them when they are in need. It’s important to develop these relationships where you work and where you worship, among believers and non-believers. You never know when you might need them, or when they might need you. Time spent with others is a win-win.
