Warriors Need Time To Reintegrate

Life for the military community moves at a fast clip, and there are many adjustments.  One of the most challenging adjustments occurs when warriors transition from the battlefield back to home, often in a few short days. We call this process ‘reintegration.’

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: …a time to kill and a time to heal” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 3, NKJV).

The last several years have demonstrated how difficult this can be. Despite high expectations of warriors and families alike, the results have often been heart breaking: marital strife that often ends in divorce, domestic violence, addiction to drugs and alcohol, and financial problems to name a few.

God’s Word has sage advice. Time is the key. “There is a time for everything,” the scripture tells us. There is a time for reintegration. Warriors and families must realize this and be patient with one another. Warriors have changed, and so have their spouses and children. Give yourself time. It’s God’s way.
