Relocating to a far-away, unknown place required a spiritual response on Abraham’s part. He had to decide what he would do with feelings of being disoriented and ungrounded. Would he refuse to go because God hadn’t provided a strip map and a sponsor? Or, would he trust God to guide him? Abraham chose to trust God rather than become overwhelmed by his own fear of the unknown.

“Now the LORD had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you’” (Genesis 12:1, NKJV).

As a result, he was rewarded with a deeper relationship with God and became a great leader in God’s plan for humanity. Additionally, he was blessed with family and possessions. Will you be like Abraham today and trust God with the details of your life? The possibilities are exciting!
