When we do good and share, we give things up, which is pleasing to God. Does your heart naturally prompt you to share, or do you need to pray for generosity?

“But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Hebrews 13:16, NKJV).

We treat our battle buddies well. We share equipment and rations and look out for each other. Wouldn’t it be a better world if everyone treated everyone else as his or her battle buddy?

The word “sacrifice” has two meanings. First, it’s a sacrifice every time we give something up, whether going without it or actually giving it to someone else. Second, it’s a sacrifice and offering to God. Offerings or sacrifices are frequently described as “pleasing” or “a pleasing aroma to the Lord” (Philippians 4:18).
