Quiet Time

In today’s world, people are always on the go. Between work, activities, and countless electronic distractions, quiet moments can be few and far between. Yet God created us with a need for rest. Without down time, we eventually become physically fatigued and emotionally frazzled. And without time to pray and meditate on God’s Word, we suffer spiritually.

“However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed” (Luke 5:15-16, NKJV).

Jesus modeled a lifestyle that included quiet time. Luke reveals the Lord often withdrew from the crowds to pray. Since Jesus needed to take time out from His busy ministry to find a solitary place of prayer, we would be wise to follow His example.
