Depending on the translation you read, Satan is described as the most cunning (crafty, clever, shrewd) beast God created. He is skillful at evil schemes and is your spiritual enemy. Take him seriously; don’t underestimate his capabilities. In Genesis 3, we see him asking Eve, “Did God really say?”
“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, ‘Has God indeed said, “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden”?’” (Genesis 3:1, NKJV).
In Luke 4, Satan displayed the gall to question even Jesus’ identity: “If you are the Son of God…” Satan loves to plant doubt in a believer’s heart about what God said. Don’t stand for it! Resist his assaults like Jesus did by using the Word of God. Use scripture to combat every accusation Satan throws your way. Repeat these scriptures until you sense the attack is over. Victory will come!
