Have you ever stopped to realize that everything we have comes from the Lord? He is our true source of income and provision. This means that everything we have is only a temporary possession. It belongs to God, and He entrusts it into our care. There is a term for our role—steward, an asset manager for the Lord. We wouldn’t have anything if it weren’t for God giving us talent, ability, and intelligence.
“The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1, NKJV).
Since all that we have and all that we are come from Him, doesn’t that raise issues about our accountability to the Lord? A good question to ask is, “God, what do you want me to do with my life and your resources?” Look into God’s Word and pray. He will guide you.
