Hopelessness is a very dangerous place.
When you take hope away, there’s not much chance for a good outcome.
One day, Jesus came upon a man without hope. The poor guy had not been able to walk for thirty-eight years. Jesus asked the man an interesting question:
‘“Do you want to be made well?”
‘The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me,”’ (John 5:7, NKJV).
The man’s answer reflected his hopelessness. Though he was only feet away from a pool purported to have healing power, the man told Jesus, “I have no man to put me into the pool.” Yes, he was hopeless. But why? The man mistakenly placed his faith in a pool with supposed magical powers. Little did he realize that on this day, he would be staring into the face of the Creator of the Universe. Jesus spoke. The man was instantly healed.
Is your hope tank on empty? Marriage, health, finances, career, loneliness…it doesn’t matter. When you place your trust in God, no situation is hopeless.
