But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. (Hebrews 5:14)

Counterinsurgency operations (COIN) can be deceptively hazardous. Often the most difficult task is identifying the enemy from among the local populace. In many cases friend and enemy look identical. To confuse matters further, the enemy strives to convince the people that the insurgents have the people’s interests at heart.

In Afghanistan, our military leadership has identified the enemy’s strategy and is pursuing effective measures to separate insurgents from the population.  As soldiers in God’s army, we face an enemy who excels in COIN. His tactics focus largely on preventing Christians from discerning good from evil.

Looking around at our culture today, you see much that does not match the lifestyle or behavior that God wants us to practice. Sadly, many Christians don’t know the difference. As soldiers in God’s army, are we defenseless? Absolutely not! We simply need to read the Book. Don’t let the devil pull his tricks on you. Get trained with God’s Word!
