Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. (Proverbs 16:3)

In military operations, a course of action (COA) is simply a plan of action. Normally, the staff develops two or three COAs for the commander’s consideration. Together they select the plan that is most likely to succeed. Staff members go to painstaking effort as they perform detailed analysis in developing each COA.  But what happens once these COAs have been developed? Do the staff members merely decide among themselves which course of action to pursue? No! The staff continuously receives guidance from the commander before one COA is selected as the plan to execute.

It’s the Lord’s intent for us to work together with Him as we make plans in our own lives. It’s not a one-sided venture. We do our part. God does His part. Trouble happens when we step out on our own. Our Heavenly Commander does not want us to operate without His guidance. As you plan COAs for your life, are you consulting your Heavenly Commander? Do you have His guidance and approval? If you do, this verse says you will succeed!
