Challenge:

Rewrite this Scripture passage in your own words. As you do, consider how living your life in faith and obedience might impact your ability to handle the overwhelming life of a Military kid.

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Messiah is a child of God; and whoever loves a father loves his child also. This is how we know that we love God’s children: it is by loving God and obeying his commands. For our love for God means that we obey his commands. And his commands are not too hard for us, because every child of God is able to defeat the world. And we win the victory over the world by means of our faith. Who can defeat the world? Only the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 5:1–5

Life Questions:

  1. Think of a time that your life as a Military kid was almost more than you could handle. Consider how you felt and what things you did to try and cope. Try drawing or writing a description of that time and then ask God to give you a sense of peace about it and also insight into what he would have you do differently from here on out.
  2. Talk to a trusted adult about where you are at in life. Fill them in on some of the things that overwhelm you about growing up in the Military community and see what insight they might have. Ask them for advice and to pray with you for God’s wisdom and peace.
